Kurt Angle won an Olympic gold medal with a broken freakin’ neck don’t you know?
Something the WWE Hall of Famer chose to remind the world of in light of MMA star Conor McGregor breaking his leg at UFC 264.
At the event McGregor had been aiming to overcome Dustin Poirier in the latest of their trilogy of fights. The pair had one win each going into what was meant to be the deciding encounter.
However, during the bout McGregor suffered a broken leg at the end of the first round. The victory was subsequently awarded to Poirier. It was later confirmed that the Irish star suffered fractures both his left tibia and fibia. Immediately after the fight, McGregor vowed to return and avenge his latest defeat.
Reacting to the news, Kurt Angle joked that he breaks his ankles all the time. Before reminding the world that he won an Olympic gold medal with a broken neck.
So…. @TheNotoriousMMA broke his freakin' ankle this past weekend. Big deal. I break my ankle all of the time. I broke my ankle this morning and I'm jumping around right now!! I even won a gold medal with a broken freakin neck too. 😃
