Kurt Angle Believes That He Had A Better Career In TNA Than WWE

Kurt Angle shared his thoughts on his wrestling career, revealing that he believes his time in TNA was better than his WWE tenure.

Speaking on Busted Open Radio, the Olympic gold medallist reflected on his success in both promotions and why he feels he peaked after joining TNA. Angle joined WWE, then WWF, in 1998 and quickly became one of the company’s top stars, winning multiple world championships and earning a reputation as one of the best technical wrestlers in history. Despite his success, Angle admitted he didn’t feel he reached his full potential until he left for TNA in late 2006.

“I had a really good career in WWE, but I didn’t really catch my stride, where I was at my peak, until about seven years into the business, and that’s when I went to TNA.”

When asked which company he had the best career in, Angle took a moment to reflect before stating.

“If I’m being honest, yeah, I had a better career in TNA and I had better matches in TNA than I had in WWE, at least more consistently better.”

However, Angle hesitated to outright declare his TNA run as superior, explaining that he considers audience reach when evaluating his career highlights.

“When you want to talk about the biggest part of your career, where you did your very best, you’re going to want to do it where the highest ratings are and where there are more fans.”

Angle’s remarks highlight the impact of his time in TNA, where he delivered some of the best matches of his storied career.

Why Does Kurt Angle Think His TNA Run Impacted His WWE Return?

Kurt Angle spoke about how he believes his run with TNA impacted his eventual return to WWE as he believes being paired with Baron Corbin in a feud, which culminated in Angle’s retirement match at WrestleMania where he lost to Corbin, was a punishment by Vince McMahon for leaving his company to join TNA at the end of 2006.
