Kurt Angle has given his thoughts on a former WWE Superstar that he believes could have achieved a lot more success if the company had used him differently.
The Olympic gold medallist was discussing Shawn Daivari – better known to WWE fans as Khosrow Daivari – on The Kurt Angle Show podcast [available early and ad-free at AdFreeShows.com]. Kurt Angle thinks Daivari’s natural heat and ability to make people hate him matched with his skills in the ring could have paid dividends for both Daivari and WWE but it wasn’t to be:
“Oh, [Shawn Daivari] could have been utilised so much more. The kid had natural heat. People naturally just hated [him]. He had great heat and he was a great worker in the ring. We never really found that out. But I think that if WWE were to utilise them in a different way, he would have been a lot more successful.”
Daivari first debuted in WWE in 2004 alongside the hugely controversial Muhammad Hassan character. The two men tangled with the likes of Hulk Hogan and Shawn Michaels before an infamous encounter with The Undertaker spelled the end for Muhammad Hassan.
Daivari however soon re-emerged on WWE television by the side of Kurt Angle and was acting as the WWE Hall Of Famer’s manager when Angle won his only World Heavyweight Championship in WWE. Daivari soon moved on to manage Mark Henry before introducing The Great Khali to the WWE audience.
Kurt Angle also discussed what he says is the biggest challenge of being a WWE Superstar, the challenge being something Angle himself encountered time and again in his gold-laden career.
