Injured AEW star Kris Statlander joined Orange Cassidy for an off-air celebration after his All-Atlantic Title Win, bringing back an iconic prop from his time on the indies!
The main event of the October 12th episode of AEW Dynamite saw another installment in the continuing feud between Orange Cassidy and PAC, and this time their match was for the coveted AEW All-Atlantic Championship. While Cassidy has fallen short in his previous bouts with the Death Triangle member, his hand was raised in victory on this occasion as he unseated PAC as champion to huge ovation from the Toronto crowd.
After the show went off the air, Orange Cassidy celebrated his first AEW title win alongside fellow Best Friends members Chuck Taylor and Trent as confetti reigned down in the arena. Cassidy got on the microphone to address the crowd, saying that if you know him, he doesn’t like to carry things, so he asked for his backpack to be brought out.
Longtime fans of Orange Cassidy remember that prior to his AEW signing, he reigned as Independent Wrestling Champion for quite some time, and carried the title around in a Jansport backpack in lieu of carrying it himself.
The Toronto crowd was pleased to see injured star and fellow Best Friend Kris Statlander make her way to the ring with the backpack, limping as she recently underwent surgery for a torn ACL. Cassidy joked, “Jeez, take your time Kris, what, are you hurt or something?” before she stepped through the ropes, allowing him to put his title inside the backpack with the words, “I’ll see you soon.”
