Konnan has heaped praise on The Elite commenting that they always go above and beyond to be as professional as possible.
Following CM Punk’s comments during the post-AEW All Out media scrum and the brawl that they sparked backstage, some have questioned the professionalism of Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks.
The trio were at the centre of the tirade from Punk and remain suspended while an investigation into the backstage fracas takes place.
One man who has extensive history in working with and booking the three AEW EVPs is Konnan. The former WWE, WCW and AAA star is a legend of the Mexican wrestling scene and has been involved in booking The Elite for AAA on numerous occasions.
Kenny Omega is a former AAA Mega Champion, while the Young Bucks are no stranger to the promotion’s tag team gold. Speaking in a new interview with Wrestling Inc’s Nick Hausman, Konnan opened up about his dealings with the founding fathers of All Elite Wrestling.
Bro, the Young Bucks and Kenny Omega, they’re not just professional, they go over and beyond being professional,” Konnan said. “That’s very hard to find nowadays. I’ve never had a problem with him. I’ve never heard him hating on anybody.
I’ve never heard them say, ‘No, well you need to give me this,’ or, ‘I can’t lose clean,’ or, ‘I can’t lose to this guy.’ They’re always going to do what’s best for business. That’s why to me, when I hear that [they have issues with anyone], it’s almost like Rey Mysterio. Not because he is my boy, but because he’s just such a kind, gentle soul, or somebody like X-Pac.
If I hear that you’ve got a problem with them, I know it’s not X-Pac, it’s more than likely you. That’s just the way it is.”
Konnan added that is difficult to find three performers who are professional, especially in Mexico.
Since the incident following All Out CM Punk has kept a low profile, although he was recently pictured with a fan wearing a brace on his arm following triceps surgery.
