Formed at SummerSlam 2022, Damage CTRL has grown to become one of the hottest acts on Monday Night Raw. Dakota Kai and IYO SKY are currently in possession of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships, with Bayley also in pursuit of the Raw Women’s Championship, held by Bianca Belair.
In just three months, the trio has been a proven success, constantly proving entertaining segments and exhilarating in-ring content. Not everyone is a fan of the group, however; namely, Konnan, who went as far as to say Dakota Kai had “zero personality”.
Konnan Believes Bayley Is Being “Dragged Down” By Teammates
Speaking about the group on his Keepin’ It 100 podcast, Konnan stated his distaste for Dakota Kai’s lack of personality, before boldly declaring that both she and IYO SKY have actually “dragged down” Bayley since they united on July 31st:
“They invest a lot of time on these girls [Damage CTRL], and Dakota Kai has zero personality. She’s got that Mike Pence personality which is absolutely none. When she talks, she’s cricket inside the tumbleweeds. There’s nothing there, and these two girls have dragged Bayley down. They did nothing to that [make] me wanna see them.”
Fortunately for ‘The Role Model’, she by herself appears to have a fan in the new AAA Head of Talent Relations, as Konnan also had gripes with her losing to Candice LeRae on Monday Night Raw:
“She’s [Candice LeRae] just not over with the people. She’s not resonating yet. She should not be beating Bayley. Bayley’s a star, she just did the job at Extreme Rules and I don’t see Candice being the star that Bayley is. I could be wrong, but I just don’t.”
Bayley returned to WWE programming at SummerSlam, confronting Bianca Belair following ‘The EST of WWE’ successfully defending the Raw Women’s Championship against Becky Lynch. It marked her first WWE appearance since she was sidelined with a torn ACL in July 2021, just over a week before she was due to face Belair at Money in the Bank.
