Kofi Kingston has shared his emotional reaction to his friend and New Day partner Xavier Woods being crowned King of the Ring.
At WWE Crown Jewel, Xavier Woods achieved his life-long dream and was crowned King of the Ring after defeating Finn Balor.
Woods’ victory was met with jubilation across the wrestling world with stars past and present paying tribute to WWE’s new King. One man who couldn’t hide his excitement at seeing Xavier Woods triumph was his long-time friend and tag team partner in The New Day, Kofi Kingston.
In a video posted on social media, Kingston filmed himself jumping around the room, screaming with joy. The emotional reaction was instantly relatable to fans the world over who have ever seen one of their friends or family achieve their dreams.

Heading into the tournament Xavier Woods made no secret of his desire to become King of the Ring. Posting on social media ahead of his first round clash, Woods revealed that the tournament was the reason that he got into the wrestling business, adding that he was made for the tournament.
Despite huge success as a tag team wrestler, the victory marks Woods’ first significant win as a singles star in WWE.
Elsewhere at Crown Jewel, Zelina Vega was crowned the first ever Queen’s Crown winner.
The victory for Zelina Vega marks quite the turnaround for the Superstar who was released by WWE back in November 2020. The former IMPACT Wrestling star returned to WWE in July but got off to a rocky start with a series of defeats.
The start of the Queen’s Crown tournament marked an upturn in fortunes however, as she rattled off three consecutive wins to quite literally claim the crown.
