Kofi Kingston Suffers Injury

WWE have officially announced an injury to former WWE Champion, Kofi Kingston, following his absence on the January 11 Monday Night Raw.

Eagle eyed viewers will have noticed that The New Day member was truant from WWE’s red brand on January 11, leaving partner Xavier Woods to go it alone against RETRIBUTION member, T-BAR. During Xavier’s entrance, we were told that Kingston was out of action after suffering a broken jaw.

Interestingly, no timetable for his return was given and the date the injury occurred was kept under wraps. However, it would be highly unlikely that the talent would be able to compete carrying such a grievance and the last time he performed was on the January 4 Raw Legends Night in a tag team match against The Miz and John Morrison.

The lack of details around Kofi’s injury have lead many to speculate that it is indeed a work by WWE in order to help the team transition into their next storyline, but that can neither be confirmed or denied.

Since joining Monday Night Raw in the 2020 WWE Draft, Woods and Kofi Kingston have been plagued by MVP’s Hurt Business on a weekly basis, losing the WWE Raw Tag Team Championships to Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander at WWE Tables, Ladders and Chairs on December 20, 2020.
