It has been a case of ‘Where? Where? Where?’ in regards to Kofi Kingston rather than ‘Who? Who? Who?’ lately but a new report has shed light on why the New Day star missed SummerSlam.
At The Biggest Party Of The Summer, The New Day team of Kingston and Xavier Woods were not in action but Mr. Money In The Bank Big E defeated Baron Corbin on the Kick Off Show.
Woods did make his presence felt during the show as he unleashed his own supersized Dripstick 2000 on an unsuspecting John Morrison and The Miz. Dressed as nWo star and WWE Hall of Famer Scott Hall, Woods soaked the former SmackDown Tag Team Champions in the middle of the ring. The soaking may have precipitated The Miz’s frustration on the following Raw when he delivered a Skull Crushing Finale to his longtime partner.
Notable by his absence though was former WWE Champion Kofi Kingston. Mike Johnson of PWInsider has issued a new report which sheds some light on Kingston’s current status in the company:
“PWInsider.com has been told by multiple sources that he is not currently cleared to perform. Kingston was originally slated to be part of the promotional segment pushing the Pure Life Purified Water brand with Xavier, dressed as another member of the NWO, but obviously that did not happen. He was not on the road this weekend. WWE has released a NWO parody shirt using the old logo for NDR – New Day Rocks.”
There is no word as to what is keeping Kofi Kingston out of the ring or how long he will be out of action. Kingston’s last televised match came at Money In The Bank where he unsuccessfully challenged Bobby Lashley for the WWE Championship. He has been in the ring in dark matches and live events since then with the last of those appearances coming on the 16th of August Raw when The New Day defeated Miz and Morrison.
