Since making his WWE debut in 2007, Kofi Kingston has been a mainstay of the promotion, becoming a Grand Slam Champion and one of the company’s top tag team performers of all time as part of The New Day.
Now, the Tag Team Triple Crown Champion is teaming up with his mother to make a difference in the lives of children by raising funds to provide a computer lab and resource center to students Ghana, the nation where he was born.
In a video posted on his social media, Kofi Kingston introduced fans to his mother Elizabeth Sarkodie-Mensah and detailed their plans for the computer lab that will serve five different junior high schools. In the video, they speak about teachers trying to explain computers to students in Ghana without having access to the technology, and their aim is to provide both a computer lab and an accompanying resource center for students to be able to learn in the Goaso district of Ghana.
Kingston says that the project has been in place since 2001, and while they have constructed the building, put artwork on the walls, built bookcases and tables, and provided electricity, they need additional funds to build additional furniture and charging stations so that the laptops in use can be charged on a nightly basis. They are also seeking funds for additional laptops and software, and to ship the necessary materials to Ghana.
Kofi Kingston’s mother also shared a heartwarming story of taking some of the local children to a regional library, an experience they’d not had before. Kingston thanked fans for their support and for spreading the word about their new project. The video in its entirety can be seen below, and the GoFundMe fundraiser for the project can be found here.

Kofi Kingston And Xavier Woods Are The Current WWE NXT Tag Team Champions
While they recently lost the distinction of being the longest reigning tag team champions in WWE history, there’s no doubt Kofi Kingston and The New Day have been one of the most influential forces in the WWE tag team division since their formation in 2014.
While his teammates Xavier Woods and Big E began their WWE careers in WWE NXT, Kofi Kingston’s developmental time in WWE started in 2006, when FCW served as the company’s feeder system. It came as a surprise to fans when Kingston and Woods appeared on NXT TV to challenge Pretty Deadly for the NXT Tag Team Championships. The New Day won the titles at NXT Deadline, earning them the distinction of being the third team in WWE history to become Tag Team Triple Crown Champions.
Big E is currently out of action after suffering a broken neck in March of 2022, but he was quick to take to social media to congratulate his teammates on their WWE NXT Tag Team Championship win.
