IMPACT Wrestling has extended a contract offer to its Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo, Fightful.com has reported.
After leaving WWE in March of this year, Purrazzo has flourished since returning to IMPACT, rising to the top of the Knockouts division winning the title from Jordynne Grace at Slammiversary in July. All of this despite never actually signing a contract with the company.
However, speaking on the most recent episode of ITR Monday Night Live, Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp confirmed that a contract offer, believed to be for at least 2 years, is now on the table. The move comes after rumours began swirling that Deonna Purrazzo was set to leave the company as early as October. Although the rumours were unconfirmed at best, determined not to lose its new star, IMPACT has moved swiftly to lock down its women’s champion.
While her stint in WWE was ultimately disappointing, her stock has soared since her departure. From going 0-20 on WWE television outside the Mae Young Classic, Purrazzo now sits atop one of the strongest women’s rosters anywhere in the world right now.
At the time of writing, the contract is understood to remain unsigned, although it is difficult to imagine that an agreement will not be reached in the coming weeks.
