The finalists in the King of the Ring and Queen’s Crown tournaments have been set.
Early on the October 18th episdoe of Monday Night Raw, Xavier Woods overcame former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal. The New Day star was then joined by Doudrop who scored a shock win over Shayna Baszler. The former NXT Women’s Champion had been on a serious roll of late, but came up short in her semi-final bout.
Baszler looked to be on the verge of victory after locking in the Kirifuda Clutch, but Doudrop fell back into the cover to pin Baszler’s shoulders to the mat.
The pair join Finn Balor and Zelina Vega in the finals of their respective tournaments. Balor won his way through the final after defeating Cesaro and then most recently Sami Zayn on SmackDown. While Zelina Vega overcame Toni Storm and then Carmella in the semi-finals.
The winners of the King of the Ring and Queen’s Crown tournaments will be decided at Crown Jewel on October 21st in Saudi Arabia.
Queen’s Crown is a brand new tournament for 2021, while Xavier Woods and Finn Balor will be battling to become the first new King of the Ring since 2019.
Xavier Woods has been open about his desire to become King of the Ring, repeating that the tournament is the reason that he got into wrestling 17 years ago. The multi-time World Tag Team Champion went on to say that everyone will be left singing “All hail King Woods.”
