Mike Tyson may be one of the only people capable of keeping order in a match between The Rock and Roman Reigns.
Following The Great One’s surprise return to SmackDown on September 15th and the Hollywood star discussing scrapped plans for a match against Reigns with Pat McAfee a few hours prior, fans are hoping that WrestleMania 40 hosts the first-time ever match between Rock and Reigns.
While the match itself is one of the biggest matches that could happen in wrestling today, Kevin Sullivan has found a way to make it even bigger. Speaking on Tuesday with The Taskmaster, Sullivan believes that a special referee should be added to the monumental match. Specifically, either someone from Rock or Reigns’ past or The Baddest Man on the Planet:
“They are gonna draw no matter what. If you put a special referee like [Steve] Austin or Mike Tyson or even one of the elders from The Tribal Chief’s [family] — there’s so many ways you could do it. They’re gonna draw even without it [special referee] but if you want to put a cherry on the cake, get somebody like Austin or someone from the original Bloodline, and they’ll draw huge.”
Mike Tyson Helps To Make WWE History At WrestleMania
If the boxing legend were to make an appearance at a future WrestleMania, this would not be the first time that Tyson has been inside a WWE ring on the grandest stage. Tyson served as the special enforcer in the main event of WrestleMania 14, which saw Shawn Michaels defend the WWE Championship against Steve Austin.
With the referee knocked out, Austin hit a Stunner onto Michaels and Tyson slid into the ring to count the winning pin. After the match, an irate Michaels confronted Tyson for his betrayal, resulting in The Heartbreak Kid being knocked out by a vicious right hand from “Iron” Mike.
