Kevin Patrick has discussed his time with WWE and what the future holds.
Joining the company in 2021, Patrick began as a backstage interviewer before being moved to commentary for Monday Night Raw in October 2022. The announcer would later be moved to the SmackDown brand and called the action alongside Michael Cole and Corey Graves.
At the start of 2024, Patrick was made the lead announcer of SmackDown. The move was reportedly a test from company higher-ups who were not happy with his work and wanted to see how he would cope without Cole as a safety net. Patrick was removed from commentary shortly before the Royal Rumble and would be released a couple of days later.
Speaking with 700 WLW about his time in the professional wrestling world, Patrick stated that he thoroughly enjoyed his time with the company and intends to catch up with everyone the next time WWE is in his hometown:
“Absolutely loved my time with WWE. Nothing but love for everybody there. I’ll look back on my time there brilliantly, and I know I’ll go visit friends when WWE is in town, I’ll go say hi to everybody. I left very amicably with everybody there,”
Kevin Patrick Looks Onward To “Dream Job”
Shortly after the exit, Kevin Patrick was announced to be the new presenter of MLS 360, which will cover football coverage in the United States. Discussing the new role, Patrick admitted that it was the job he was born to do:
“Everything about this show screams me, and I hate to say it like that because it sounds egotistical, but it’s my dream job. It’s absolutely my dream job to be bouncing around the grounds, bouncing around through the goals, bringing you all the live updates. It’s me to a tee for anyone that knows me really well. It’s what I’m all about. So it is the dream job and it’s something that was so important for me to go all in on this,”
