Kevin Owens Wants To Face WWE Legend John Cena On Special Anniversary

John Cena Kevin Owens WWE

Recently Kevin Owens opened up on his desire to face John Cena during a special anniversary.

At the Bash In Berlin PLE, Kevin Owens failed to defeat Cody Rhodes for the WWE Championship. However, after the match, both the wrestlers celebrated Rhodes’ victory and walked backstage with arms around their shoulders.

However, Owens has not always been like this. During his initial run on the main roster, The Prizefighter was one of the most ruthless wrestlers on the roster, caring for nothing except his glory. In his main-roster debut nine years ago, Owens defeated Cena at Elimination Chamber in May 2015.

Recently speaking to Lewis Browning of Daily Mail, Kevin Owens opened up on his desire to face Cena on their tenth anniversary. The former Universal Champion stated:

I’ve noticed that May 31, 2025 – which would be the 10th anniversary of our first match together at Elimination Chamber – is a Saturday night, which lends itself incredibly well to WWE events, and maybe even a PLE. Who knows? Of course I want to be one of John Cena’s opponents in his last year, but if it could happen that night, that would be pretty incredible, 10 years to the day after the first one. But obviously, I’d be happy to face him at any point”

John Cena is set to begin his retirement tour in 2015 and will mark his final year in pro wrestling. Rumored to work around 40 dates in 2025, fans can expect to see The Leader of Cenation take on Owens.

During his jump on the main roster 10 years ago, Cena helped elevate Owens and established him as a legitimate threat on the roster.

Carmelo Hayes Wants To Face John Cena

In an interview with Denise Salcedo ahead of Bash in Berlin, Carmelo Hayes called out John Cena for a match.

I will call out somebody just because I feel like this is the perfect time to do it. I think, you know, I talked about it earlier today as well, but John Cena, he’s on his retirement tour. He put out the message. He said, you want some, come get some. I think, to be honest, I’m right at the front of the line of people that are going to come get some. So, John, I’m just letting you know, just giving you the heads up. Your time is up, and my time is now.”

With around 40 dates set for 2025, fans can expect Cena to go against several upcoming stars on the roster.
