Kevin Owens had revealed that over the years he’s been on WWE’s main roster, he has pitched ideas for tag teams with some of the company’s very best up and coming talent.
Speaking with Alex McCarthy of talkSPORT, the former WWE Universal Champion unveiled that he had gone to management to suggest that he be used in a double act, rather than tread water in singles competition.
The names mentioned by Owens for a union were the likes of AJ Styles, Mustafa Ali and Apollo Crews. Though Owens is on a different brand to several of these names currently, it was said that the pitch was made while all four men resided on the same programme.
Styles, Ali and Crews aren’t the only names Owens would love to team with, however. In a recent interview with WWE India, the host of The Kevin Owens Show orated his yearning to reunite with former friend Sami Zayn and lift the WWE Tag Team Championships on either Raw or SmackDown:
“I would love to be Tag Team Champions with anybody really. But, Sami would be obviously a bit more special than anyone else because of the history we’ve had and like he mentioned, we’ve been Tag Team champions before. So that would be great, I would be absolutely open to that for sure.”
In recent weeks, Kevin Owens has formed and on/off partnership with Daniel Bryan on the blue brand, but both men seem to have their eyes on the WWE Universal Championship held by Roman Reigns and not the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championships.
‘The Prizefighter’ has had his hands full lately with Jey Uso and Roman Reigns, who he will battle in a TLC Match at the pay-per-view of the same name on December 20.
