Kevin Owens has provided a major follow-up to his recent critical injury.
Earlier last month, ahead of WrestleMania 41, Kevin Owens was diagnosed with a career-threatening neck injury. It ruled The Prizefighter out of his Mania 41 match against Randy Orton, and he had to be replaced by Joe Hendry. Owens has stepped away from in-ring action, with no confirmation of his return.
In a recent video uploaded on X(Twitter) by Owens, the former Universal Champion shared more clarity on his injury. Addressing surgery concerns and other updates, he said,
“Hey guys. So I haven’t been around in a little while and I know a lot of people are wondering what’s going on with my neck and the neck surgery and all that stuff so I figured I’d take today to update you all… So, first, we don’t have a surgery date yet. I have not had surgery yet. Despite reports that are contrary.
We’re still gonna try to figure out what the best way to go about it all is, exactly what needs to be done. So we’re kind of figuring that out still. So, there’s a lot of uncertainty, but hopefully in the next few weeks, we get clarity and we do the surgery and then we go from there.”
Later, he further shared,
“I don’t know what’s happening with my neck. So, we’ll figure it out.”

With no guaranteed return date for the former tag-champion, Owens’ last recorded match was against his best friend Sami Zayn at Elimination Chamber 2025.
Former WWE Champion Set Up Kevin Owens For ‘Second Opinion From A Surgeon’
Earlier, during an interview with Raj Prashad of Complex, Randy Orton broke character and shared his honest feelings about Kevin Owens’ current injury. Reflecting on Owens’ critical injury, Orton had offered him an important suggestion.
“If we’re being real here, my heart breaks for Kevin. “I think, first and foremost, I just hate that he’s gotta go through that. Even more than a physical journey he’s gotta go on to let his body heal, it’s a mental journey too. His body’s been through it, and now he’s paying that price, like he said in the ring the other day. We all pay the price at one point or another.”
The story from Complex notes,
“Orton has set Owens up with a second opinion from a surgeon he worked with previously. At this stage, his advice for Owens is to make the best decision for himself and his family, and to reach out if he needs to talk.”
