Kevin Owens has looked back on one WWE match where he was concerned that one or more of the participants would suffer a serious injury or worse!
No stranger to putting his own body on the line for the fans, Owens has frequently taken part in high spots or executed painful landings to heighten drama. However, when it comes to falling from a great height, very few have taken things to the level of Shane McMahon.
Feuding with Owens throughout 2017, McMahon looked to finally put their rivalry to an end inside Hell in a Cell. With McMahon falling from the cell in his match against The Undertaker the previous year, fans expected more of the same.
Not one to disappoint, McMahon placed Owens on the announce table and climbed to the top of the structure. As McMahon dove off the top, Sami Zayn saved Owens from disaster at the last second.
Recalling the segment on a WWE Retrospective, Owens admitted that while everything worked out ok, he was scared that something would go wrong beforehand:
“Then this insane moment where Sami has to pull me off before this giant man comes down from 40 feet high, or whatever it is. We were so scared that I wouldn’t get off the table in time, and all three of us just die. But it worked out, thankfully. You know, you take chances in life. This was one we took, and it worked. And in case you hadn’t noticed, working with Shane McMahon, it’s a blast, but it’s it’s intense, and it’s an experience. It’s very chaotic and fun, but also scary, just a whole gamut of emotions.”
Kevin Owens Hoping For Shock Result
At Saturday Night’s Main Event, Owens will challenge Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed Championship and looks to end an 8-year drought without the top title. In a recent interview, Kevin Owens stated that he wants to see another top star walk out as champion at the same event.
In a new interview, the WWE star named Rey Mysterio as an ultimate dream opponent.
