Kevin Owens Injured At WWE Live Event

Kevin Owens cuts a promo

On November 13th at a WWE live event in Madison, Wisconsin, Kevin Owens took on Austin Theory in singles action action. However, it appears that not everything went off quite as planned, with reports suggesting that Owens sustained an injury.

It was noted by fans in attendance that Owens landed awkwardly on his knee towards the end of his match and was helped backstage by the referee after the bell. Meanwhile, a new report has given more details on the problem.

Kevin Owens Injured

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has now reported that Kevin Owens has sprained his MCL. The report notes that those within WWE are hopeful that is the only damage the star has suffered.

“We have confirmed that the injury is an MCL sprain. The way it was worded was that hopefully that is all the injury is with the idea it could be more than that.”

Meltzer adds that after suffering the injury, Owens visibly in pain and seemingly worried that he had blown his knee out altogether. Immediately after the incident Owens and Theory went to the finish, which saw the former pick up the win with a Stunner.

The report closes by saying that Meltzer is hopeful that more information will be available soon.

Also at the event, Seth Rollins defended his United States Championship against Bobby Lashley and Matt Riddle. Meanwhile in the main event, Braun Strowman and The New Day defeated The Bloodline (Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso & Solo Sikoa).

Kevin Owens has been absent from WWE television in recent weeks, with his last televised match coming on the September 30th episode of Friday Night SmackDown where he teamed with Drew McIntyre and Johnny Gargano to defeat Alpha Academy and Austin Theory.

It has been something of a stop-start year for Kevin Owens after he was defeated by Steve Austin at WrestleMania 38. Since then, Owens has feuded with Ezekiel, now known as Elias, and Theory. Owens missed WWE’s most recent Premium Live Event Crown Jewel.
