Kevin Owens is not holding back anymore.

Earlier yesterday, during the 4th April episode of SmackDown, Kevin Owens ruled himself out of WrestleMania 41, and announced a severe neck injury. Soon enough, during a recent interview with Robbie Fox on My Mom’s Basement, Owens shared more details about his injury and fired back at controversial former WWE star Matt Riddle’s comments about him and Sami Zayn.

Earlier this year, in March, during an interview with Going Ringside, Matt Riddle claimed that Sami Zayn and Owens were hard to work with.

Responding to the allegations, The Prizefighter now claimed:

“It didn’t take me by surprise. I did see it. It’s funny because coming from him, I have nothing against him at all. He’s a guy who had really amazing opportunities handed to him like being Randy’s tag team partner for so long and basically getting to ride the coattails of a legend, and he managed to screw it all up. Not because of his abilities, because he’s very talented and very athletic, but because of his own attitude and poor choices.

For him to say we’re hard to work with or whatever, he couldn’t get a word in, there is a pretty good reason for that. You look at his track record and you look at our track record, that speaks for itself. If that’s how he felt, it’s fine. I can’t say he’s wrong when he said it was hard to get a word in. It probably was because we probably didn’t let him get a word in too much because we’ve been around him and we work a certain way and it works.”

Owens is a multi-time WWE champion and was even recently involved in several high-profile feuds against Sami Zayn, Cody Rhodes, and Randy Orton. Matt Riddle was released by the promotion in 2023 and currently wrestles in the Indies.

Kevin Owens Opens Up On “Serious” Neck Injury Ahead Of WrestleMania 41

In the same interview with Robbie Fox of My Mom’s Basement. Kevin Owens shared several details about his neck injury.

So I know for a fact there’s a specific moment [the injury occurred] because in December, I did a full body MRI just on my own for curiosity just to see if there’s anything I should be aware of. You can see if you have issues with your bone structure or organs or anything like that.

At the time the report came back that my knees were s**t but I’ve been well aware of that for a long time so there’s no concern there. And there was something about my spine, mild to moderate stenosis.

I showed it to WWE doctors and they’re like, ‘Yeah, for what you guys do everyone’s got a level of stenosis. Everyone on Earth walking around has a level of stenosis, but your spine and neck and everything else looks good. Everything looks good for what you’ve been doing. You’re fine’. I was like, ‘Great’ and I felt great.

But then in January I had a match and in the match I had two things happen that really jarred my neck and that’s when the issues started so I knew there was something. And then we ended up doing an MRI this week and found out that it’s serious. So I think that match in January is what did it because I had an MRI the month before that and everything looked fine.

In a previous interview, Kevin Owens detailed scrapped plans for a special WrestleMania entrance.
