On January 6th, John Cena returned to Monday Night Raw and declared that he would be entering the Royal Rumble in an attempt to become a 17 time World Champion.
On February 1st, John Cena entered the final Royal Rumble of his career. The veteran lasted until the final two, but in the end, he was eliminated by Jey Uso, who won the first Royal Rumble match of his career in a move that came as a surprise to many.
Speaking on the latest edition of his Kliq This podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash said that he wasn’t surprised by Cena’s Royal Rumble loss, joking that the star didn’t even have a tan going into the event.
“Especially when John came down and took off his shirt and he didn’t have a tan, I was like, there’s no way — This is not going to be his way into WrestleMania with no tan.” (h/t Fightful)
