Kevin Nash has given recently released WWE Superstar Braun Strowman some friendly advice giant-to-giant saying the former WWE Universal Champion now makes his own rules.
Strowman was released from his WWE contract on the 2nd of June alongside five other WWE Superstars. Former NXT Champion Aleister Black, Ruby Riott, Lana, Buddy Murphy, and NXT star Santana Garrett were all let go alongside ‘The Monster Among Men.’ These releases were reportedly made due to budget cuts according to WWE Head Of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis.
This clearout by the company comes on the back of two other sets of mass releases this year. On April 15th for the second year running several stars including The IIconics, Samoa Joe, and Mickie James were all released. This was followed in May by several releases in NXT including those of controversial figures Drake Wuertz and Velveteen Dream.
Braun Strowman took to social media to post footage of a gym workout and accompanied it by some lyrics from heavy metal outfit Five Finger Death Punch’s song Jekyll and Hyde. Responding to the post was two-time WWE Hall Of Famer Kevin Nash who shared some words of advice for Strowman.
“Got to embrace the I don’t give a f*ck mantra and let life come to you. Quite sure you were looking for something to do when you came into the business. Just remember you’re an independent contractor. You make the rules…..why? F*cking look in the mirror”
Another former WWE star was released from his contract earlier this year and made waves when he debuted on AEW Dynamite recently. Former WWE United States Champion Andrade, now Andrade El Idolo, shocked the wrestling world when he turned up at the side of Vickie Guerrero.
Strowman has offered no indication of what his future holds but is likely under a standard 90-day non-compete clause that bars him from wrestling for other companies in that period.
