Kevin Nash On Which Hollywood Stars Would Play Each Kliq Member In Their Own Movie

By Adam Morrison. Published 19th July 2022.
The Kliq Kevin Nash Scott Hall Triple H Shawn Michaels X-Pac backstage at WWE Hall of Fame 2014

The Kliq may be a quintet of top WWE Superstars but who would portray the five Hall of Famers on the big screen?

Although they were never an official on-screen stable, The Kliq remains one of the most famous groups in wrestling. Comprised of Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Kevin Nash, the late Scott Hall, and Sean Waltman, the stable famously broke character as part of the Curtain Call before Nash and Hall headed for WCW.

All five are celebrated WWE Superstars. Between them lies a litany of championships, match of the year contenders, seminal storylines, and ties to other successful pro wrestling groups. A movie about them would be an instant hit, no doubt, but who would portray such iconic roles?

Kevin Nash attempted to dissect this question on the latest Kliq This podcast, casting his dream Kliq film:

“For Scott [Hall]? I chose Clint Eastwood. I just think of that natural coolness, like think of like Dirty Harry. And think of him with a Dirty Harry with a curl and a toothpick. For HBK, my choice was Brad Pitt. Shawn [Michaels] can go from zero to 100 and f*cking 50 miles an hour as far as just going off. You know, and I think that Brad Pitt proved in Fight Club that he had that kind of range.

You know, so I mean, yeah, we go Legends of the Fall, because Shawn as you know, I’m trying to give the visual first and then take the actors and their bodies of work to basically fill the complexities of the characters that they’re going to be playing. And I know that Brad Pitt, of course, has, you know, plenty of range, plenty of range. And I just thought that that would be a strong casting call for that.”

When asked who would play himself, Kevin Nash didn’t shy away from selecting one of the greatest Hollywood has to offer:

“I’m going to get heat for this but I am going with [Chris] Hemsworth. He’s got the hair flip, right? On top of that, Hemsworth is built a lot like I am. He’s an upper body bigger guy, smaller leg guy. And he’s a leaner, big bone dude, but he’s leaner. X-Pac was the hardest for me, I picked Ed Norton for Pac.

[Casting Triple H] This was a hard one also, because I wanted somebody to look like him. But I also wanted somebody to have some, again to be a hell of an actor and I went with Sean Bean.”

All five members of The Kliq have movie credits in their own right. Triple H and Kevin Nash are perhaps the most known, with ‘The Game’ starring in Blade: Trinity as Jarko Grimwood, Inside Out as Arlo ‘AJ’ Jayne, and, infamously, The Chaperone, where he played Raymond ‘Ray Ray’ Bradstone.

As for Nash, he has credits in Magic Mike and Magic Mike XXL as Tarzan/Ernest, John Wick as Francis, and most recently, Dog as Gus.
