WWE Hall Of Famer Kevin Nash has responded to Kofi Kingston’s tribute to him on RAW with his own unique wit after Kingston dressed like Nash.
At SummerSlam Xavier Woods donned new red gear akin to the nWo Wolfpac’s look of the late nineties in WCW. Complete with mid-forehead curl and toothpick, Woods’ look paid tribute to Scott Hall. Kingston wasn’t present at The Biggest Party Of The Summer, so fans never got to see a full tribute to The Outsiders tag team that revolutionised the wrestling business when they turned up in WCW in 1996.
With Kingston back in action on RAW alongside Woods, the two men took part in a tag team turmoil match to determine new number one contenders for the RAW Tag Team Championship held by RK-Bro.
The New Day began the match with Kofi resplendent in red trousers and leather vest, reminiscent of the gear Nash wore at Bash At The Beach 1996 when Hulk Hogan joined him and Hall to form the nWo. ‘Big Kofi Cool’ and Woods had seen off several teams before being attacked by T-BAR and Mace after they eliminated the former RETRIBUTION members. The match was then put on hold and resumed later in the night with The New Day eventually being eliminated by their WrestleMania 37 opponents AJ Styles and Omos. Styles and Omos came up short themselves, losing to MVP and WWE Champion Bobby Lashley.
Kevin Nash responded to Kingston’s gear on social media and poked fun at this reputation of maybe not quite doing as much in the ring as the former WWE Champion:
“@TrueKofiThank you so much for the love tonight. It was amazing to watch that gear in actual motion. Always wondered what it would look like.”
Haha 🐺 4 Life!
You da man big bro! ✊🏾

Bobby Lashley and MVP don’t have long to wait to get their shot at the RAW Tag Team Championship as they will face Randy Orton and Riddle for the gold on RAW on the 13th of September.
