Kevin Nash explained why he decided to promote a new cannabis strain that’s named after his signature finishing move.
The world of professional wrestling takes a toll on performers’ bodies, and many figures from the world of wrestling are embracing the world of medical cannabis to manage pain as opposed to traditional medications. Following in the vein of Rob Van Dam, Ric Flair, and Jim Ross, Kevin Nash is now stepping into the world of cannabis and will be embarking on a two-day dispensary tour in his home state of Michigan.
Nash first announced his collaboration with HYMAN Cannabis at the January GCW Notorious show in Detroit, and now the strain – which is named Jackknife after Nash’s signature Jackknife Powerbomb – is set to debut.
Speaking to High Times, Kevin Nash explained why he felt the Jackknife name was appropriate for the new sativa hybrid.
“My signature move: Jackknife Power Bomb, my finishing maneuver, is fitting for my strain partnership with HYMAN cannabis as I feel it accurately represents the strength and potency of the flower. When you’re being Jackknifed, you’re not in control over the situation.”
“Turning my pain into passion, I have become very familiar with cannabis and the one thing I find to be most important is quality. HYMAN cultivators have achieved a level of quality that is like nothing else I’ve tried—everything HYMAN does is by design and I am excited to hear what fans think when they try it.”
Kevin Nash elaborated on his reasoning for embracing the world of cannabis when it comes to pain management, saying that it was not an easy decision but that he’s lost too many friends to prescription medication and alcohol. He also cited his personal experience with cannabis as pain relief and made sure to note that his collaboration was in no way associated with WWE.
“My decision to enter the legal cannabis industry was not an easy one. Thur my life I’ve lost too many friends to prescription drugs and alcohol. I find the medicine reduces my pain. This business is in no way involved or connected to the @WWE Please use responsibly. (21 and over)”
