Despite leaving WWE, Kevin Dunn has no plans to retire.
On December 31st, PWInsider reported that longtime WWE Executive Producer Kevin Dunn had given notice to the company and would be leaving after more than 30 years. Nick Khan later confirmed Dunn’s departure in a company email, and production changes have already been evident as of the Day 1 edition of Monday Night Raw.
With Dunn’s decision to leave the sports entertainment giant, many fans wondered if the man was set to retire. However, an update from PWInsider reveals that while Kevin Dunn made the decision to exit the company on his own, he isn’t looking to retire from working. The report notes that he is looking into potential film and television projects, but that he’s unlikely to work with another wrestling company.
Kevin Dunn Reportedly Felt Disrespected Ahead Of WWE Exit
Continuing, the report states that despite Dunn receiving public praise after his exit, there is a growing belief within the company that the longtime executive felt disrespected after Vince McMahon was removed from creative power and Triple H took control. It’s no secret that Dunn has always been a “Vince McMahon guy.”
Though those in the company have been praising his positive qualities in public, one source described the situation between Dunn and WWE “getting uglier” even after he gave notice that he would be leaving during the week of Christmas.
PWInsider notes that Dunn was unwilling to change the way he ran production for the company, and also makes mention of the fact that Endeavor is looking to save money after the WWE and UFC merger into TKO became complete.
On January 9th, WWE announced a new Head of Media & Production.
