Kevin Clifton has teased a return to BBC One’s hit celebrity dancing show Strictly Come Dancing on one condition: He gets to partner with NXT UK’s Isla Dawn!
Clifton, who currently co-hosts the Gorilla Position podcast, made the offer in response to a tweet from Dawn where she expressed interest in appearing on Strictly Come Dancing through a number of puns:
Strictly Come Dawn-cing?
Strictly Dawn Dancing?
Isla Come Dancing?
Anyway, get me on Strictly
In his reply, the former Strictly champion said he’d be “back in a heartbeat” if he could partner with ‘The White Witch’ of NXT UK:

Kevin Clifton appeared as a professional dancer on Strictly Come Dancing between 2013 and 2020, partnering with celebrities like Susanna Reid, Louise Redknapp and Stacey Dooley – who he won the show with in 2018. He officially left the BBC One programme in March but quickly transitioned to the world of wrestling, joining the Gorilla Position podcast in July as co-host alongside James Delow.
Isla Dawn, meanwhile, has been inactive for the majority of the year thanks to NXT UK’s six month hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since the brand’s return in September, she’s competed twice on the show – losing to Aoife Valkyrie and Piper Niven on the September 17th and October 15th episodes respectively.
Check out our interview with Isla Dawn from last month, where she praised the influence of Nikki Cross and Killan Dain as well as former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre and NXT UK’s recent move to BT Sport Studios!
