Kenny Williams and Noam Dar Advance In NXT UK Heritage Cup

On last night’s edition of NXT UK, the Heritage Cup Tournament began with one favourite advancing and one shock upset qualifying for the First Round.

The first bout in the NXT UK Heritage Cup was the Triple Threat Wildcard Match to determine who would advance to face Trent Seven in the opening stages. With no clue as to whom the trio of wildcards would be, we were presented with Ashton Smith vs. Kenny Williams vs. Amir Jordan.

Once the tag team of Williams and Jordan had come to terms with the fact that they would have to do battle, all three men went tooth and nail for the right to battle for the brand’s latest honour. In the end, it was Kenny Williams who prevailed with a wicked swinging tornado DDT to Smith.

Kenny Williams will battle Trent Seven in Round One.

The second match of the Heritage Cup and the main event of this week’s NXT UK saw Noam Dar and Imperium’s Alexander Wolfe collide with Pete Dunne as the Special Guest Referee. The winner would advance to the Semi-Final to face either Flash Morgan Webster or A-Kid.

With both men drawn at one fall each – Dar scored a pinfall in Round 2 and Wolfe levelled the match in Round 4 with a German suplex – it was the Scot who prevailed when a Nova Roller aimed at Pete Dunne hit Wolfe with only seconds left in the final round.

Following the bout, Pete Dunne and Ilja Dragunov – who had made the save for ‘The Bruiserweight’ when Imperium made their presence known – fought off Alexander Wolfe and NXT UK Champion, Walter.

Each NXT UK Heritage Cup Match will be fought under British Rounds Rules. 6 three-minute rounds with a twenty second rest period between each round. The matches as whole will be 2 Out of 3 Falls.
