The return of former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega to television is seemingly unresolved as he continues to recover from injury.
The leader of The Elite has not been seen in an AEW ring since he lost the AEW World Championship to Hangman Adam Page at November’s Full Gear pay-per-view. Kenny Omega appeared backstage on the following Dynamite as he alluded to taking a break to “fix things” and leaving Elite business in the hands of The Young Bucks.
Omega has been dealing with a torn labrum in his shoulder as well as battling bouts of vertigo that he has suffered in the wrestling ring causing him to take a leave of absence from AEW.
Now Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio has given an update on Omega’s status, suggesting that an original return date for The Best Bout Machine is now uncertain. Meltzer noted that Kenny Omega was originally set to return to AEW in March but said that the last he heard from Omega himself, that date is up in the air.
As well as his injuries and ailments, Omega is also reported to have tested positive for COVID-19 just a few weeks ago.
March will be a big month for AEW as the company’s next pay-per-view Revolution will take place on the 6th of the month inside the Addition Financial Arena in Orlando, Florida.
