Kenny Omega is returning to IMPACT, the promotion has confirmed. This marks the second appearance for Omega in the promotion. After a hotly anticipated appearance with the ‘Invisible Hand’ Don Callis on last week’s show, Omega will be appearing again on the upcoming edition of IMPACT this week.

During an appearance last week which was surrounded by intrigue, Omega explained his appearance in the promotion with a story about his hobby of collecting comic books as a child. During his anecdote, ‘The Cleaner’ also teased a future bout with IMPACT World Champion Rich Swann:

“Now I found a new hobby and I have the most valuable prize of them all (the AEW World Championship) – the Action Comics #1, that’s Superman’s debut by the way. And hell, I don’t mind if I had an X-Men #1 in my collection – the AAA [Mega] title – I don’t mind if I had a Spiderman #1 in my collection. Who knows, maybe that’s the IMPACT Championship? You guys have a great champion, right?”

With both the AAA Mega Championship and the AEW World Championship already in his possession, Omega sounds primed to collect more championships in 2021. However, he will have to defend his AAA Mega Championship at Triplemanía XXVIII. Airing on the 12th of December, Omega is scheduled to face Laredo Kid on AAA’s biggest show of the year.

Interestingly, Omega’s teased match with Rich Swann may be more likely than fans initially imagined. Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Omega will headline “at least some IMPACT PPV shows.” Should this happen, 2021 could very well be the year of ‘The Cleaner’.

Rich Swann is, at the time of reporting, without an opponent for IMPACT: Hard To Kill. Could IMPACT start 2021 with a huge title vs. title match? Should he win the IMPACT World Championship as well, fans may see Kenny Omega returning to IMPACT more often than expected.

IMPACT: Hard To Kill will air on January 16th 2021.
