At NJPW Dominion on June 4th, Lance Archer and Will Ospreay clashed to determine the next challenger for Kenny Omega’s IWGP United States Championship.
The bout kicked off with Ospreay trying his best to keep the big man down, but when he attempted to end things quickly with Hidden Blade, Archer turned him inside out with a massive clothesline.
The Murderhawk Monster proceeded to dominate much of the match, preventing Ospreay from building any momentum. Just as The Aerial Assassin looked to turn things around with Stormbreaker off the turnbuckle, his recently injured shoulder gave way, preventing him from landing it.
However, an almost impossible Spanish Fly to Archer finally gave him an opening and he hit Hidden Blade, only for Archer to kick out at one. Three more Hidden Blades finally put the monster away, guaranteeing Ospreay a rematch for the title he lost to Omega back at Wrestle Kingdom in January.

Will Ospreay officially challenges Kenny Omega for Forbidden Door
Following the match, Ospreay took a microphone and told Omega he would be invading his territory and would face him in Canada, the site of Forbidden Door on June 25th.
“Kenny Omega, I’m the guy you left covered in my own blood at the Tokyo Dome. You should’ve killed me when you had the chance. I’m back for revenge.”
“I will walk into your territory, I will walk into Canada. Ospreay v Canada. I’m bringing back the IWGP United States Title.”
The bout between Ospreay and Omega is a highly-anticipated rematch between the two men following a barn-burner at Wrestle Kingdom 17 that saw The Best Bout Machine get his first victory in a New Japan ring since 2019.
Since winning the US Title, Omega has only defended it once. On the March 29th edition of AEW Dynamite, successfully retained it against Ospreay’s United Empire teammate Jeff Cobb.
