Kenny Omega’s AEW Dynamite Return Date Confirmed

Kenny Omega Announced For Upcoming NJPW Show

Kenny Omega will be returning to AEW TV imminently.

Omega made his return to the promotion at Worlds End after missing all of 2024 aside from one appearance in May. The former World Champion met Continental Classic winner Kazuchika Okada in the ring to present the Continental Championship to his former rival. With Omega appearing on AEW programming once more, fans are expecting to see The Best Bout Machine appear more regularly and compete in his return match soon.

During the January 1st episode of Dynamite, a video package aired to recap Omega’s return and meeting with Okada. Omega declared in the video that he is still the best and that things are not over. The closing shot saw a graphic flash up onscreen confirming that Omega would be appearing live on the January 8th edition of Dynamite.

Omega has been out of action since December 2023 after being hospitalised with diverticulitis. During his Dynamite appearance in May 2024, Omega was attacked by The Elite and taken out of the arena in an ambulance.

Also on the show, one member of the AEW roster underwent a name change.

Kenny Omega Preparing For Return Match

Before Omega makes his return to Dynamite, the former World Champion will compete in his first match in over a year. During his appearance at NJPW Power Struggle, Omega was involved in an altercation with New Japan star Gabe Kidd. It was later confirmed that Omega vs. Kidd would take place on the inaugural Wrestle Dynasty show on January 5th.
