AEW World Champion Kenny Omega has discussed the dream match with one WWE Hall Of Famer he wished had happened and the legend in question has responded.
Omega is on the cusp of participating in one of wrestling’s dream matches when he goes one on one with Bryan Danielson at AEW Grand Slam in New York. The two men have shared the ring before but their only one on one match came in PWG in 2009, long before they had conquered the worlds of New Japan Pro Wrestling and WWE.
Speaking on Adam’s Apple, Kenny Omega discussed another dream bout that he missed out on that could have seen him share the ring with an Olympic gold medallist:
“I felt like I just missed out on maybe wrestling Kurt Angle, and that would have been a dream match for me. He’s a guy that I consider probably one of the best of all time. Especially for what I try to do in the ring and I try to bring in athletics and real sports. He was a jack of all trades and there won’t be anyone like him ever again, I don’t think.”
Kurt Angle then took to social media to respond to Omega’s kind words, saying:
“Thanks @KennyOmegamanX– Would have been a classic. Much respect!”

Speaking on a recent episode of his podcast The Kurt Angle Show, available via AdFreeShows, Angle put a number on just how much money it would take to get him inside an AEW ring. However, the Olympic Gold Medallist jokingly admits that even that amount of money might not be enough to overcome the wrath of his wife.
“If they paid me $10 million, I would do one more match. I’ll wrestle Kenny [Omega] for $10 million. I’ll get my ass kicked.”
“Mrs. Angle [would kick my ass], I’m more scared of her than anybody else. I wouldn’t be able to tell her, there’s no way she would let me do it. She would lock all the doors from the outside.”
