Kenny Omega wants a few AEW stars to go back and wrestle in NJPW.

Returning to wrestling after almost a year, Kenny Omega defeated Gabe Kidd at Wrestle Dynasty in a 30-minute encounter. Hailed by critics as one of the best matches of the night, Omega reinstated his dominance at the Tokyo Dome.

An EVP and a former NJPW star, Omega started the promotion with Cody Rhodes, The Young Bucks, and Tony Khan in 2019. Hiring several NJPW stars and wrestlers from the Indies, All Elite Wrestling is now arguably one of WWE’s biggest competitors.

Since its inception around five years ago, several NJPW stars jumped ships to join the Jacksonville-based promotion such as Jay White, Juice Robinson, Adam Page, Will Ospreay, Kazuchika Okada, and many more.

Following his win against Kidd, Omega gave an interview to Tokyo Sports, expressing his desire to see former NJPW wrestlers now with All Elite Wrestling, return and compete in Japan.

Many of the top wrestlers in AEW have an aspect of having come from New Japan, like (Will) Ospreay, Jay White and (Kazuchika) Okada. They achieved results in Japan, came to AEW, won the belt and became stars. So I think it would be more interesting if those kinds of wrestlers came back to New Japan and had more matches to see who would win, the current AEW star or the New Japan star.”

The Cleaner returned at Worlds End PPV to hand Kazuchika Okada his Continental Classic title and is now scheduled to return on the 8th January Dynamite episode.

Reported Long-Term Plans For Kenny Omega Upon His Return

A few weeks ago, before the former World Champion’s upcoming match against Gabe Kidd in Japan, Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported on Kenny Omega’s long-term plans.

Omega does need to get going on U.S. television in a big way if he’s physically ready to work regularly. Right now he wants to take it slow before going back full-time with the idea of easing into a full-time schedule down the line and hoping everything holds up.”

However, with Omega now possibly done with Gabe Kidd, fans need to wait and see what Khan’s promotion has planned for him, after he returns on 8th January.

In other news: NJPW is reportedly interested in this former WWE star.

Speaking about Kenny Omega’s return, Dave Meltzer made a bold claim.
