Former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega is unable to compete at AAA’s Triplemania show as a result of his current suspension.
Huge problems arose in AEW following the All Out pay-per-view after CM Punk aired his grievances in a very public manner at the post-show media scrum. Punk took issue with The Young Bucks, Hangman Adam Page, and Colt Cabana with explosive comments that did not go down well backstage.
CM Punk was said to have been confronted by The Bucks in his locker room leading to a fight. Among other allegations stemming from that was that Kenny Omega had his hair pulled and was bitten by company producer and Punk’s friend, Ace Steel.
As a result of all this, The Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, CM Punk, and Ace Steel are all still believed to be suspended by AEW with several other stars caught up in the situation recently having their suspensions lifted.
Speaking on his podcast, former WCW star and Mexican wrestling legend Konnan confirmed that Kenny Omega was set to headline Triplemania on October 15th but now can’t as a result of his suspension:
“Omega was gonna headline Triplemania and [AEW] won’t let him go.”
Konnan added that both Kenny Omega and AEW Head of Talent Relations Christopher Daniels confirmed that The Best Bout Machine could not compete on the show in Mexico City.
