Kenny Omega and The Elite may have lost their latest battle against the Blackpool Combat Club, but the former AEW World Champion is determined not to lose the war.
After weeks of increasing violence which peaked as Omega and Jon Moxley met in a Steel Cage Match on Dynamite, and ended with Don Callis turning his back on Best Bout Machine, The Elite, and the BCC vowed to destroy each other in Anarchy In The Arena.
To describe the match as anarchy would be doing it a disservice. The violence on display was a stunningly surreal spectacle with the crowd unsure of what death-defying antics were coming next.
Moxley and Omega both got on the wrong side of a barbed wire board, Claudio Castagnoli felled Matt Jackson with a Piledriver in the back of a pickup truck, while thumbtacks, a leafblower, fork, screwdriver, and an exploding Superkick also featured.
In the end, it was the BCC who got the win after Konosuke Takeshita made a surprise appearance to join forces with the group and take on Omega.
After the match, Omega cut a promo for the live crowd hitting that more reinforcements could be on the way, promising that the rivalry between the two factions is far from over.
“I might not be the most popular guy backstage, but there is a bigger world than AEW, and I still have at least one or two really good friends that can even up the odds. You guys stay tuned. We are not done! This is not over!”
Kenny Omega To Be Joined By Kota Ibushi?
Many have wondered whether one of these friends could be Kota Ibushi. The star has been linked with a reunion with Omega since becoming a free agent following his departure from New Japan Pro-Wrestling. However, the deal might not be completely cut and dried.
A recent report claimed that Ibushi remains open to working with WWE if he can work with Sami Zayn, and Shinsuke Nakamura and train other wrestlers.
