Kenny Omega “Hoping” To Be Back For AEW All Out

By James Holder. Published 21st July 2022.

A new report has confirmed that Kenny Omega is aiming to be back in action for AEW All Out, and he’s not alone.

On July 19th it was reported that Kenny Omega could soon be returning to the ring. It was suggested that AEW are holding off on booking The Young Bucks vs. FTR for a third time as there is something big in the works for The Bucks. That something big is reportedly a six-man tag team match at All Out where they will team with Kenny Omega.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer has now confirmed that Omega is targeting the event for his comeback. Interestingly, Meltzer also speculates that All Out is also the target for CM Punk and Bryan Danielson.

“He’s hoping to be at All Out, but it’s too soon to say that he will or he won’t. It’s not… he’s hoping for it. That’s kind of the target right now. The Chicago show is a target for that, I think it’s the target for Punk, but I don’t think that either of them are sure things.

It’s probably the target for Danielson too. All of those guys coming back would probably give them a shot in the arm. Omega, basically, doesn’t really wanna talk about it, and nothing’s for sure. But he would like to be back for that show, that would be a good idea. That’s the hope.”

Kenny Omega has been out of action since November following his defeat to Hangman Adam Page at Full Gear. On the Dynamite after the show, Omega explained that he would be taking time off to “fix things.” In reality the star had been dealing with a whole list of injuries for a number of months.

Meanwhile, CM Punk has been missing since revealing that he needed to undergo surgery, in the same week that he won the AEW World Championship from Page at Double or Nothing. Danielson has also been out since the same show with an undisclosed injury. It is believed that the issue is concussion related.

There has been no official word on when any of the trio will be getting back in the ring.
