Kenny Omega Discusses His Wrestling Future

Kenny Omega

Kenny Omega has had something of a strange start to 2023.

After an acclaimed singles match with Will Ospreay at Wrestle Kingdom 17 where he captured the IWGP United States Heavyweight Title, Omega added the AEW World Trios Title alongside the Young Bucks. However, since then he and the Bucks have taken something of a backseat in AEW competing against Top Flight and AR Fox, a long way from the main event scene.

In recent weeks there has also been significant speculation that the star could be a target for WWE. Omega’s contract with AEW was set to run out in January, but time has been added for nine months that he spent out of the ring with a number of injuries. Perhaps most intriguingly, it is believed that Omega is open to a switch to WWE.

In a new interview with Renee Paquette on The Sessions, Omega opened up about what the rest of his career might look like. The former AEW World Champion didn’t discuss WWE directly, instead breaking down how he wants to help the next generation reach their goals.

“Sometimes, you know, the first thing that pops into your mind, is probably how you really feel. And the first thing that came to my mind wasn’t, you know, a venue. It wasn’t a title. It wasn’t some kind of accolade.

I feel like whatever it is that I can contribute to wrestling, I want to be able to help people in the next generation, realise the potential as quick as possible or quicker than I was able to, if I can help give anyone advice, or to help push them into a certain direction, that can lead to something good for them career wise, down the road. That is where I’d like to see myself. I don’t feel like I have too many goals or aspirations of my own anymore.”

Kenny Omega Admits Public May Never Know Truth About All Out Brawl

During the conversation, Omega was also asked about the now-infamous brawl that followed All Out. The details of the incident remain shrouded in mystery and intrigue with those involved unable to speak directly about what happened. Omega admitted that this will likely continue, meaning the general public may never know what happened.
