Kenny Omega Debuts Stunning New Entrance On AEW Dynamite

Kenny Omega entrance

In the first year of AEW Dynamite’s existence, the presentation of Kenny Omega has sometimes been called into question. That all changed this past Wednesday when ‘The Cleaner’ finally arrived in AEW with a stunning new entrance.

Prior to his introduction, Omega was given an intentionally self-congratulatory pre-amble from ring announcer Justin Roberts, who said:

“And now, the Mega Champion of AAA, PWI’s top 500 wrestler in the world, the Wrestling Observer’s wrestler of the year in 2018, Sports Illustrated’s wrestler of the year in 2017, he has broken the Meltzer five-star scale seven times and has both the highest rated singles and tag team match of all time. He is so fluent in Japanese that he sometimes translates for Michael Nakazawa. He once performed in North Carolina. He stands six-feet tall and weighs 224 pounds. He is Kenny Omega . . .”

As this was going on, a Hollywood era Rock-esque video played on the screen before two girls with brooms came out onto the stage and started dancing. Omega was then shown in silhouette behind the curtain before finally making his entrance, complete with a sizzling fireworks display.

Looking more focused than ever, The Cleaner proceeded to destroy Sonny Kiss in the first round of the tournament for a title shot at the AEW World Title, hitting the V-Trigger and the One Winged Angel within seconds to score the quick-fire victory.

Omega’s new look at attitude suggests that AEW is finally pulling the trigger on turning him fully heel, which has been teased for several months. Follow our live coverage of Dynamite next week to see if he makes it to the finals or check out the spoilers for the show here.
