Kenny Omega Appearance On ‘Swerve City’ Nixed Citing ‘Unfortunate Circumstances’

Kenny Omega won’t be appearing on ‘Swerve City’ as originally scheduled.

Former AEW World Champion, Kenny Omega was set to be interviewed be fellow All Elite Wrestling star, Swerve Strickland on Strickland’s ‘Swerve City’ podcast, however, Swerve took to Twitter to announced that ‘The Cleaner’ won’t be appearing due to ‘unfortunate circumstances’.

Swerve notes that the show’s next guest will be announced on Monday, September 12 at Noon EDT.

While Swerve is one-half of the current AEW World Tag Team Champions, alongside Keith Lee, Kenny Omega has been involved in quite the controversy as of late.

In case you’ve somehow missed it, Omega, alongside his ‘The Elite’ stablemates, Matt and Nick Jackson of The Young Bucks defeated ‘Hangman’ Adam Page and The Dark Order at AEW All Out and became the company’s first-ever World Trios Champions. However, following the match, AEW World Champion, CM Punk took part in the event’s post-show media scrum and took aim at The Elite (among others). Once Punk wrapped him the presser, he and friend, AEW Producer, Ace Steel wrestler involved in a physical altercation with Omega and The Bucks.

While the fall-out from the backstage spat is still ongoing, Punk and The Elite were all stripped of their respective titles. AEW President, Tony Khan announced a tournament to crown a new World Champion, while new Trios Champions were crowned during the 9/7 episode of Dynamite.
