Kenny Omega isn’t taking it easy on his road to recovery.
On December 15th, Kenny Omega announced that he would be out of action indefinitely due to an illness that was later revealed to be diverticulitis. Omega was hospitalised for the condition and has been told that things could have been much worse if hadn’t sought medical attention when he did.
Since then, the star has been on the road to recovery, and Tony Khan recently gave a positive update on his status, saying that he is “doing much better.”
Despite not being able to get back in the ring, Omega has been keeping himself busy during his time away from AEW, and has now announced that he will be hosting the launch stream for the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth video game alongside Naomi Kyle.
Omega has long been known for his love of Final Fantasy 7 and even made his entrance for his Wrestle Kingdom 17 bout against Will Ospreay dressed as the main protagonist, Sephiroth while using the famed villain’s theme song.

As well as the FFVII launch, it has been announced that Omega will begin streaming Street Fighter games in the near future. CEO Gaming Founder Alex Jebailey recently revealed the news on social media, showing off the personal stream station that’s been set up for The Cleaner.
“Just finished setting up @KennyOmegamanX’s personal stream station! Gonna help him out with the first stream in the near future and share the channel’s name when it’s ready to rock!”
