Kenny Omega will be returning to New Japan in a matter of days!
As announced by New Japan, the former IWGP Heavyweight Champion will be appearing as a special guest at the Power Struggle show on November 4th:
Kenny Omega will be at EDION Arena Osaka for a special guest appearance! After a reunion at NJPW’s offices with Hiroshi Tanahashi created buzz across the wrestling world, what will come from this special appearance?
The show will be headlined with Zack Sabre Jr. putting the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship on the line against Shingo Takagi and will also see the latest match take place in Hiroshi Tanahashi’s lengthy retirement tour. The show is also expected to have major implications for the promotion’s biggest show, Wrestle Kingdom 19.
Kenny Omega To Make Live Appearance
The AEW wrestler and EVP is closing in on one year out of action as he last competed in December 2023. The reason for Kenny Omega’s absence is that he was hospitalised with diverticulitis at the end of last year and is still recovering from the surgery. Omega did appear on an episode of Dynamite in May but was attacked by The Elite in his return appearance.
Recently returning to Japan, Omega met with former rival Tanahashi and addressed the future of himself and the partnership between AEW and New Japan, which includes the inaugural Wrestle Dynasty event that will take place on January 5th, 2025.
During the meeting, Omega teased a future match against The Young Bucks, who confirmed that they would be appearing at Wrestle Dynasty.
In a new interview, Kenny Omega expressed doubt over an AEW concept.
