Kenny Omega Advertised For Upcoming AEW Dynamite

Kenny Omega’s return date has been seemingly revealed.

Back in December 2023, Kenny Omega announced on social media that he had been battling illness and would be sidelined until further notice. It was later revealed that Omega’s was hospitalised with diverticulitis and would have been fatal if left untreated.

Not appearing on TV since announcing his absence, there has been no timeline of return for the former World Champion. Tony Khan has been asked about Omega’s status in media interviews and press conferences but has not been able to provide any more information. According to a social media post, Omega’s return date may have been revealed.

On May 1st, Dynamite returns to Canada once more and will air live from The Canada Life Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba. A social media post from the venue claims that they have a secret, which is the return of Omega:

WINNIPEG… we have a secret We will be seeing Kenny Omega at AEW in Winnipeg on May 1!

Winnipeg is also Omega’s hometown.

There has been no official announcement from Omega, Tony Khan or All Elite Wrestling in regard to this update. Omega last competed in December 2023, defeating Ethan Page on an episode of Collision.

Kenny Omega Discusses Working For Another Promotion

Select AEW talent have been permitted to work for other promotions as long as it does not clash with their commitments, such as Jon Moxley’s recent run in Japan that saw him win the IWGP World Heavyweight Champion.

Although not cleared to compete, Omega has been active online as he has been regularly streaming on Twitch and answering questions from fans. In a surprising update, Kenny Omega admitted that he would be open to competing in an unlikely promotion.
