Keith Lee Breaks Silence Following WWE Release

By James Holder. Published 8th November 2021.
Keith Lee

Keith Lee has taken to social media to comment on his future following his release by WWE.

‘Limitless’ Keith Lee signed with WWE in 2018 following stints with Ring of Honor, Evolve and Pro Wrestling Guerrilla. Lee initially appeared on NXT winning the North American and NXT Championships. After losing his NXT Title to Karrion Kross at NXT TakeOver: XXX, Lee arrived on the main roster in the Summer of 2020 entering a short feud with Randy Orton.

The star continued to be featured prominently in the early stages of 2021 before disappearing from television without explanation. Lee later revealed that he contracted COVID-19 before being diagnosed with a heart issue.

The ‘limitless’ star returned to action in July challenging then WWE Champion Bobby Lashley on Raw. He was later renamed Keith “Bearcat” Lee before being reintroduced on Raw in October. Despite this the star was released on November 4th along with the likes of Karrion Kross, Nia Jax, Eva Marie, and his partner Mia Yim.

Posting on social media on his birthday (November 8th) Lee said that he was looking to the future, while dismissing suggestions that anyone other than himself had paid for his medical bills.

“Greetings and salutations. This day is my birthday! It is not a happy birthday, but is is one I am most grateful for. Several months ago, it was not a guarantee I would make it to this day, so there is a positivity in that. I paid all my medical bills from the many offices and machines I frequented. There is positivity in that. And, I do find it amusing that people believe anyone but me paid for my medical expenses.

I was going to wait a couple weeks, but I think it’s time to look toward the future, forward march as I like to say. I am capable of so much more and I can’t wait to see what it looks like properly. I have a wide array of interests and abilities….I also consider myself to be rather open minded. Here’s to a future that, for all intents and purposes….seems Limitless.”

Thank you for all the positivity that has been dropped on me the past few days as well as the birthday wishes. I love you. Worry not. We are not done. We work.#BaskInMyGlory#iAmLimitlesspic.twitter.com/NkxqL6qkWM

Speaking ahead of his release, Keith Lee said that he feared that his career was over as a result of his health issues, adding that he was grateful to be able to get back in the ring.

Following his departure from WWE, Lee responded to a fan on social media to who questioned whether it was his idea to assume the unpopular “Bearcat” name. The former NXT Champion laughingly pointed out that it wasn’t.
