Frankie Kazarian has shown his admiration for Christian Cage ahead of their one-on-one match on AEW Dynamite – Cage’s debut match in the company.
Kazarian and Cage were both in TNA – now known as IMPACT Wrestling – at the same time in the late 2000s. The two competitors shared a ring several times but only met each other one-on-one twice.
“Christian Cage, maybe in the entire history of pro wrestling, is the most underrated guy to ever do it. Maybe the highest wrestling IQ I’ve ever been around. Knowing what works, knowing where to be, he’s a master in what we do. He’s mastered the craft of pro wrestling.”
“I’m so thrilled that he’s here. If you had told me a month and a half ago that I would have the chance to wrestle Christian Cage again, it just wasn’t in the cards. The fact that it’s happening is still surreal. I’m looking forward to the match. It’s a huge honor to be his first opponent in seven years and I can’t wait to beat him.”
The two one-on-one encounters in TNA brought each man one win apiece so both Cage and Kazarian will be looking to break the tie on Dynamite.
Christian Cage made his on-screen debut for AEW at the Revolution pay-per-view in February. Since then the former World Heavyweight Champion has been involved in some physicality with AEW CHampion Kenny Omega.
