Last night, WWE’s current longest-reigning champion Kay Lee Ray took a monumental stride towards holding her title for 400 days. Ray successfully defended her NXT UK Women’s Championship against Piper Niven, with the match marking the first time WWE gold has been defended in the UK for over six months.
“There 100% has to be a UK PPV. It has to happen. We’re taking over. I’m going to be biased and say in Scotland.”
Kenny also went on to ask about Drew McIntyre’s colossal clash at WrestleMania that saw the Scottish Psychopath become the first ever British WWE Champion.
“All of us wished there was a crowd there for him, but what that boy has done – it’s a joy to watch him right now. It goes to show that it doesn’t matter if there’s a crowd, you still go out there and you do your job, and he does his job. He makes me smile when we see him. He does all of us proud.”
You can watch the entire video below, where Kay Lee Ray also tells Kenny McIntosh of her excitement at being involved in NXT WarGames last year, how she managed to power through the match with an ankle injury, and her desire to face Bayley among other things.
