Karrion Kross has said he wants to face John Cena after it was suggested Kross could face the WWE legend in the final match of his career.
The current NXT Champion was responded to fan on social media suggesting the match by simply saying:
“I would be honored…And VERY ready.”
Following that exchange, Cena shared a photo of Kross without a caption on Instagram with Kross later reciprocating. While Cena’s Twitter account is filled with inspirational nuggets of wisdom that have spawned two books. The sixteen-time world champion is more laidback on Instagram, often sharing photos without any explanation.
In an interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports illustrated Kross followed up with a discussion about Cena.
Karrion Kross stated:
“As for John Cena, I haven’t met him yet but a fan online had suggested that his last match be against me. I would certainly never suggest that, but I would very much like to work with him before he hangs it up.”
“He’s a person who improved our industry through authenticity and hard work, which in return gave us all greater opportunities to pursue this as a dream job. He raised the bar for future generations and he’s someone we should all want to work with. I hope he comes back full-time at some point. When I was injured, I remembered people calling him Super Cena because of how fast he recovered from injuries. That was also a bit of inspiration to me as well. That if there was a way to do this, he figured it out, and I would, too.”
The last time Cena appeared in action for WWE was in the Firefly Fun House match with Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania 36. The cinematic match featured Cena at different stages of his career as well as featuring Cena in the nWo.
John Cena promises to have a busy 2021 with the ninth instalment of The Fast And The Furious franchise premiering in the summer. Cena also stars as Peacemaker in the new Marvel movie, The Suicide Squad.
