Karrion Kross Wanted Unexpected WWE Role Before Departure

Karrion Kross

Karrion Kross reveals he wanted an unexpected in WWE before his contract expired on August 10, 2025.

Kross wanted to work behind the scenes at WWE before he left the company. The wrestler said he was interested in becoming a producer. This news came out through his YouTube video, My WWE Contract Ends Today, following his release.

A producer in WWE helps wrestlers plan their matches and storylines. They work backstage to make sure everything runs smooth during shows. Kross thought this job would be a good fit for him.

The former NXT Champion said other wrestlers often came to him for advice. They would ask what he thought about their ideas and promos. Some of these people were stars he watched on TV before he became a wrestler himself.

I would be open to it,” Kross said in the interview. “I have expressed interest in learning how to produce. I’ve had people far more successful than I have, run their ideas by me to get my opinion on it.” (9:15 – 9:37)

Kross felt good when other wrestlers asked for his help, making him feel confident about his knowledge in the wrestling business. He said getting this kind of respect from his peers was a very good feeling, and the validation meant a lot to him.

In the same video, Kross thanked Logan Paul for involving him in his match against AJ Styles at WrestleMania 41.

Wrestling Always Came First for Karrion Kross

Even though Kross wanted to try producing, wrestling was still his main focus in WWE. He believed he had many more stories to tell in the ring and felt he had not worked with all the talented people he wanted to face yet.

The wrestler said he felt things were going well for his career at the time. Fans were reacting positively to his work and his merchandise was selling good numbers. His backstage segments and short promos were becoming popular with WWE viewers on television and social media platforms.

Kross had been with WWE since August 2022, when he returned to the company. He came back after they released him in November 2021 during budget cuts. During his time there, he won the NXT Championship twice. His contract with WWE expired on August 10, 2025, making him a free agent.
