As of August 10, 2025, Karrion Kross is no longer signed with World Wrestling Entertainment.
This was Kross’ second run in WWE, having previously worked predominantly in the developmental brand, NXT, before a failed brief run on the main roster. That was during the Vince McMahon-led era, and the two-time former NXT Champion was often cited as someone severely mishandled.
So naturally, when WWE re-signed Kross in August 2022, fans believed he was destined for big things. Right out of the gate, the company had sown the seeds for two high-profile storylines with Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre. The Herald of Doomsday feuded with the Scot first and even scored a noteworthy win over McIntyre. However, things went south after that.
His run fizzled out, and fans cooled off on him until earlier this year. Karrion Kross finally connected with the masses, earning himself a premium storyline with Sami Zayn. But instead of using it to catapult him to main event status, WWE let him go after offering him a new contract — which, according to Kross, was an unacceptable one — under the condition that he signs it within 24 hours. Needless to mention, the deal did not go through.
Despite all of the frustrations and grievances Karrion Kross may have with WWE for not utilizing the momentum he and his wife, Scarlett, managed to build and maintain throughout this year, he is still ready to go “home.”
Karrion Kross Urges WWE To Give Fans What They Want
On The Ariel Helwani Show, Karrion Kross surprised Helwani when he called WWE “home,” stating that all he wants is for him and Scarlett to go back home.
The host reminded Kross of all the negativity that he had to deal with this year. But the 40-year-old had a positive outlook towards the whole thing.
That’s life, man,” Kross retorted when Ariel Helwani point-blank asked why does he still want to go back to WWE. “Life — there’s going to be grief, setbacks, and frustrations that are going to be part of every aspect of life, whether it’s this job or another.”
Earlier this year, WWE let go of longtime veteran R-Truth, only to re-sign him mere days later. Truth returned on one of its ‘Big Five’ premium live events, Money in the Bank. Perhaps Karrion Kross could find his way back in a similar fashion? Only time will tell.
