WWE parted ways with Karrion Kross and Scarlett Bordeaux just 9 days ago, but things are quickly picking up for the fan-favorite couple. Kross just confirmed a major happening in his post-WWE future, and the promotion he’s working for has dismissed some speculation.
The Herald of Doomsday and The Smokeshow are still making headlines after WWE released them for the second time when their contracts were not renewed. Kross and Scarlett have made comments pointing to this being a legitimate departure, and the two-time NXT Champion has spoken out about what happened with officials, but the industry continues to speculate on if this is just one big work.
Kross returned to the indies in February 2022 after his first WWE release the previous November. His third match was a win over Flip Gordon at WrestlePro’s Killer Instinct PPV in Rahway, NJ. The promotion owned by AEW’s Kevin Matthews and Pat Buck brought Kross back for the WrestlePro Alaska 3rd Anniversary Show that April for a win over Dan Maff, but the trip was special as Kross and Scarlett tied the knot on a glacier in The Land of The Midnight Sun.
The wrestler once again known as Killer Kross beat Joey Janela at WrestlePro’s Back To Brooklyn PPV one month later. The following night, Kross defeated LSG at the WrestlePro May-Hem PPV in Rahway in his last match for the popular indie promotion launched in 2016. The former RAW Superstar, who revealed a new theme song this week, is now set to return to the WrestlePro ring as he took to X today to announce that he and Scarlett will be appearing at WP’s Killer Smokeshow event on Sunday, September 21 at the famed Rahway Rec Center.
“Sunday, SEPTEMBER 21, Rahway NJ @WrestlePro • K I L L E R [butcher knife emoji] S M O K E S H O W • See you soon [hourglass emoji],” Killer Kross wrote with the graphic below.

WrestlePro Confirms Post-WWE Match For Killer Kross
Karrion Kross and Scarlett Bordeaux have been announced for a few different post-WWE events so far, but mainly signing-type appearances. Now Kross is confirmed to make his in-ring return, and WrestlePro has dismissed online speculation that this would be just another signing appearance based off the initial announcement.
WrestlePro announced their new “Killer Smokeshow” event today, set for Sunday, September 21 at the Rahway Recreation Center in Rahway, NJ. The promotion confirmed on Instagram that Kross will be wrestling that night against an opponent to be announced.

Kross has not wrestled since losing to Sami Zayn at WWE SummerSlam. His last non-WWE match came on July 31, 2022, less than one month before his return to the company. Kross defeated Davey Boy Smith Jr. at the JCP-promoted Ric Flair’s Last Match event in Nashville, TN.
